Before launching twp Berlin, Michael was a partner with Berlin Global Advisors, advising clients from the financial services industry. Earlier, Michael has led Moody’s government & public affairs engagement in Germany as a Senior Vice President/ Head of Representative Office in Berlin, also supporting Moody’s wider engagement across the EU. Prior to that, he has been the chief economist of two major trade associations from the financial sector, the trade association of German insurers (GDV) and later the German Savings Banks Association (DSGV). Michael has also worked on policy issues in banking and financial markets policy for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt/ Main and for the Federal government in Bonn. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from both Paris-Dauphine and the London School of Economics and a doctorate in Economics from Kiel University.
